Turnaround Drop In (and other news)

Thursday and Friday Jan 27/28
From 12-4 Thursday and Friday w/ Wayne & Mariel
Come work on art projects, play games, hang out
what have you.

6 weeks to Health Passport. Feb 7 to March 18
Want to get healthy? Lets be committed for 6 weeks.
3 times a week doing a variety of activities.
Monday (before R'native Voice) We will be cooking and learning about making healthy choices and eating healthy snacks
Wed - pending grant approval "Wii're Fit" Start a body profile on the Wii and participate in a group Wii Fit activity

Friday Healthy meal-drop in til then Street Smarts/Self Defense (3 sessions) $5 Friday @ Silver Star (you arrange rides)
Sign up ASAP (like tomorrow)

Find us on 27th Street Setup Area
Decorate the Float at 9am 
Ride the Float at 11am (sharp)

Pizza Party at Pizza Hut after the parade for participants.

Media Arts Festival Creekside Theatre:April 15th
Media Club and Arts Foundations are going to start building projects for this event our tentitive theme is "Who's coming to dinner Storytelling" Its an excellent opportunity to create a body of work either thru photo essay, visual storytelling, performance/film and art.

Drumming is going to start Monday Nights after R'Native Voice is over.

Being a committed active member of Sookinchoot gives you opportunities for summer jobs, mentorships, and after school programs and activities. Street Smarts

Interested in participating in a street smart/self defence group?

As part of our Friday Nights for Feb we are including 3 evenings of Street Smarts/Self Defense through the Independent Living Vernon program and Sundance Martial Arts. 
Course runs Feb 11,18 and 25th

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

Our First Friday Night Drop in is scheduled for this Friday Jan 14 after school.
Come hang out, play pool, work on some art work, play some games and have your voice

Emily Carr has an amazing opportunity for young artists. Feb 11 2011 is the deadline to apply for a scholarship to attend Emily Carr's one month summer teen workshop in Vancouver.

Feb 21st will begin our first Hand Drumming session with Bernice Jensen. Bernice will be sharing some of the songs she's been gifted with Sook youth. Drums are limited so register now. Bring your own if you have one

Media Club is looking for members. Any youth interested in Film Making, Documentaries, film screenings, multi-media arts is welcome to register. Currently we are planning a winter home shoot. Come be part of something great!
